TUI is thrilled to announce its recognition as Airline of the Year by Glasgow Airport, celebrating its exceptional operational success and innovation during the Summer 2024 season. This prestigious award acknowledges TUI’s commitment to enhancing the travel experience through strategic partnerships, technological innovation, and a seamless, customer-centric approach.
The award was presented by Glasgow Airport CEO Ronald Leitch, who highlighted TUI’s outstanding achievements in operational efficiency, passenger satisfaction, and collaborative engagement with key service partners.
Barbara Williams, Glasgow TUI Station Account Manager said: “TUI’s remarkable performance over the summer was fuelled by dedicated teamwork with service providers across the airport, resulting in a more streamlined, accessible, and enjoyable journey for travellers. One of the key innovations was the installation of a self-service bag drop (SSBD) system which has transformed the check-in process. The introduction of day-before check-in services further enhanced the process, giving customers even more flexibility and convenience”.
TUI and its partners provided operational demonstrations for independent travel agents, enabling them to experience firsthand the enhanced customer journey at the Airport. Agents were shown the full check-in process, SSBD kiosks, and even toured TUI aircraft, providing them with invaluable insight into airport operations and strengthening their knowledge of TUI’s efficient service model.
This award reflects TUI’s “One Team” approach, achieved through collaboration with Crew, Pilots, Swissport Ground Handling Agents (GHA), TUI CARS, and Glasgow Airport’s Duty Managers and Ambassadors Team. Working in synergy with these groups underscored TUI’s commitment to delivering an elevated, team-oriented customer experience.
